Keeping your money in a cooperative bank

My colleague has a bank account with a cooperative bank. In fact, her whole family keeps a big part of their money in the same bank. This started from the days when their father, head of the family, worked with a Cooperative society which then expanded its services to include a Cooperative bank.

My friend said the interest is good plus they get other advantages, the main one being account-holders enjoy the advantage of a very low interest rate for housing loans. That enabled her to own three properties. There are other programmes that account-holders have access to, such as education loans for themselves and their dependants. Cooperative banking nowadays are on par with regular banks where services are concerned.
