Massacre in US campus

There is hooliganism in schools here but killings? Thank goodness none recorded so far, I think. The recent killing of 32 students in Virginia Tech is really sad and scary. I wonder what drives this type of killings especially from those that young?

  1. Many reasons, I guess, but the only one I can think of is insensitivity due to too much exposure to violence and hate and .... well...

  4. Everybody has moments of insanity, but few countries have lax gun law as in the US.

The gunman is described as "loner". What has the society done to help loners?

  5. LB, ya lah, many reasons and the human mind is so unpredictable and shall I say, interesting? Anything can spark off any reaction. Love can turn into hate with disastrous results as in this case. So sad, so irrational.

MM, civilization is ill in every civilization. Does that make sense?

    PandaB, very sick.

Z, yes, sad and shocking. Once in a while some record is being set.

KS, moments of insanity resulting in taking lives then that is something serious.

What has the society done to help loners? Interesting thought-process.
