Malaysia Day celebration at Dataran Merdeka Kuala Lumpur

For those of us who missed the Malaysia Day celebration at Dataran Merdeka (Merdeka Square) yesterday, a reader from The Star took a nice picture of part of it although it was a rehearsal. The Thumbnail submission won the day's RM50 prize.

In the background, you can see part of the Royal Selangor Club building. The club just celebrated its 125th anniversary.

There is a video afterall. Let's watch..

  1. I celebrated Malaysia Day by doing a run in Putrajaya. The place pretty quiet as I'd have thought Putrajaya would do something to celebrate Malaysia Day too.

  2. They did it at Dataran Merdeka this year - probably because the actual Merdeka ceremony during Tengku Abdul Rahman's time was conducted there.

Personally, I like it that KL folks get to witness these events here in KL instead of having to head out to Putrajaya all the time. Having it here in KL will give tourists a chance to enjoy it for a change. Hope you had a good run at Putrajaya nevertheless.
